Boulton Paul Balliol VR596 was a T.2 evaluated by the A&AEE at Boscombe Down. It crashed at Castle Rising in Norfolk in August 1952.

Kidlington aerodrome on February 3, 1950, the day that the Oxford University Air Squadron received its first six Chipmunks, delivered from Hatfield in rough weather and led by de Havilland test pilot Pat Fillingham. The aircraft were accepted by Wg Cdr (now Air Chief Marshal Sir Christopher) Foxley Norris, commanding officer of the OUAS.
