This Consolidated Liberator Mk I, AM92?, was one of many ferried across the Atlantic to the UK during World War Two. Jimmy made his first such flight on September 25, 1941, piloting Liberator AL590 from Dorval to Prestwick via Gander.
AM920 was one of the batch of 20 LB-30Bs diverted from the US Army Air Corps to the RAF after the fall of France, delivered between April and August 1941. One of three operated by BOAC on the transatlantic service, AM920 went on to become G-AHYB after the war, before being sold in 1950 to become a VIP transport in French Indo-China as F-VNNP.

An Imperial Airways postcard of Handley Page W.10 G-EBMM City of Melbourne. This airliner entered service in 1926 and later joined Alan Cobham's National Aviation Day Displays Ltd as Youth of New Zealand. It crashed at Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, on September 24, 1934.

Armstrong Whitworth Ensign G-ADSZ Elysian at Croydon in 1939 or 1940. It was in this aircraft that Jimmy made his last airline flight out of Paris, on May 9, 1940, just as the Germans were closing in.

G-EBLF banking over the river Thames at Waterloo, on what was possibly a "tea flight". These half-hour flights were operated from 1929 until 1932, and cost a pound or two per head - which would barely buy the toasted teacakes today.
