"MAXIMUM EFFORT"
SWA FINE ART has produced a limited edition of 395 prints of Maximum Effort by Philip E. West, depicting Avro Lancasters of 101 (Special Duties) Squadron RAF and signed by no fewer than 11 of the unit's aircrew including pilots and Special Operators. Based at Ludford Magna in Lincolnshire from June 1943, the squadron was engaged on VHF jamming ops using Airborne Cigar against Luftwaffe night-fighter controllers; flying with all Bomber Command main force attacks, the unit suffered heavier losses than any other in No 1 Group.
