  • Fairey Gannet AS.I of 820 Sqn up from RNAS Eglinton, Northern Ireland, in February 1957. The squadron joined HMS Bulwark that June, but was disbanded in December of the same year.
    Flight photographer L.W. "Mac" McLaren regarded this as one of his best shots. Mac twice flew in aircraft which caught fire in the air, and was involved in five crashes!

    An unusual view of the Brabazon. The black markings on the fuselage were used to assist interpretation of photographic test records.
    One of the first air-to-air photographs of the mighty 230ft-span Bristol Brabazon, taken by Charles Brown in October 1949. G-AGPW was first flown on September 4 that year by A. J. "Bill" Pegg from Filton, and appeared a few days later at the SBAC Display at Farnborough.

    Classic John Yoxall photograph of the Hawker Hawfinch low and fast at Brooklands in March 1927. No motor-drive was used to take this photograph - only an unwieldy plate camera and a lot of faith in the pilot, in this case “George" Bulman. Only one Hawfinch was built, the RAF choosing the rival Bristol Bulldog as its new fighter.
