EMBRAER Phenom

Now fully painted up and looking very smart, the first Embraer Phenom 100, PP-XPH (c/n 50099801), seen here outside the factory at Sao Jose dos Campos on June 22, is currently being prepared for its first flight. Ground vibration testing is now under way, with the aircraft expected to take to the air as soon as this has been completed.
This view of the Phenom 100 shows off its smooth, classic lines. The maximum operating Mach number of 0.7 has allowed a simple, straight wing to be incorporated into the design. This aircraft has successfully completed initial flight envelope, performance and flying qualities tests.

Though not yet flying, one must take very seriously the two new models from Embraer. Announced earlier this year as the Light Jet and the Very Light Jet, these two aircraft received new names at the Convention - the Phenom 300 and Phenom 100 respectively. The Phenom 100 is expected to be in service by mid-2008 and the Phenom 300, which has little commonality with the smaller model, will follow a year later.
Updating progress on development of the Phenom 100 very light jet at Farnborough on July 18, 2006, Embraer reported that wind tunnel testing has now been completed. This 1:6 scale model was used for the three-stage tests, which began at the University of Washington Aeronautical Laboratory and continued in Brazil's Comando-Geral de Tecnologia Aeroespecial facilities before being completed by TsAGI in Zhukovsky, Russia. First flight is anticipated in mid-2007, with first deliveries in mid-2008.
This computer-generated image of the Phenom 300 will become a reality when the aircraft takes to the air this summer. Assembly of the first aircraft began in August 2007 and by the end of November, all the fuselage sections had been mated.
