Robs Lamplough's North American P-51D Mustang G-BIXL/44-72216 has finally forsaken the olive drab colours and Miss L nose legend it adopted when filming Memphis Belle at Duxford in 1989 for the markings it actually wore when it flew with the 487th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group, the famous "Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney" in early 1945. It is the only currently airworthy P-51D to have flown with the 352nd FG, and was assigned to Capt Raymond Littge, who shot down several Luftwaffe aircraft in it. Boeing B-17G G-BEDF Sally B is now the only Memphis Belle participant still wearing its film colours.

The repaint of Shuttleworth Collection Westland Lysander G-AZWT has been completed at Old Warden. It now wears the all-black special-operations colours of 161 Sqn machine V9367/MA-B, flown by Peter Vaughan-Fowler on Operation Apollo to the South of France and back the winter of 1942. The aircraft is fitted with a white-runged "spy" ladder into the rear cockpit, and a longrange ventral fuel tank. Watch out for air-to-air pictures soon.
