All three I-153 Chaikas and two of the five Ratas fly down the display line. Formations of these pre-war Russian fighters have not been seen since the last of their type were retired from use by the Spanish Air Force in the mid-1950s, where they were used as aerobatic trainers.

Wing Commander Ken “Mac” Mackenzie DFC AFC in front of the RAF Museum’s Heinkel He 111H-2 3701152, at the opening of Our Finest Hour on April 19, 2000. On October 7, 1940, while flying Hurricane V6799, Mackenzie rammed the tail of a Messerschmitt Bf 109, which crashed into the sea. Mackenzie subsequently forced-landed near Folkestone, escaping with only slight injuries.
